Fresh Strawberry Bread, Quick and Easy

    Jun 11, 2010 · 1 Comment

Fresh strawberry bread is so quick and easy to make. It's a must try for any strawberry lover. Fresh Strawberry Bread

I've been eyeing this recipe from My Baking Addiction (Jamie) for strawberry bread since the day it was posted. I found it interesting for three reasons.

One, I would never have thought to make fresh strawberry bread and this would be a good experiment with my favorite fruit. Two, for once, I sort of actually already had all the ingredients in my kitchen. We always have a stock of strawberries in the fridge since it is just about the only fruit that my toddler will touch without putting up a fuss.

Three, there was a piece of me that thought I could get more calories into my little fussy eater this way but  I was wrong. He would not touch it. On the other hand, I almost ate the whole loaf after it came out the oven! I had to stop myself by wrapping up half of it.

The bread was moist and had a strong strawberry flavor. It reminded me of eating strawberry shortcake but without all the cream. If I had vanilla ice cream on hand, I might have had a scoop with some cubed up strawberry bread tossed on top.

Jamie's recipe for fresh strawberry bread is quick, easy and delicious. The next time I need to serve guests for brunch or tea time this will definitely be on my list.

I also highly recommend it if you are looking for something to take to your host or hostess. Her recipe uses buttermilk but I had to substitute it with an equal amount of yogurt. It still turned out great! I have not posted the recipe because it is not mine. Please follow this link to My Baking Addiction if you are interested in trying it out.

After going crazy at the farmer's stand, I had more strawberries than I knew what to do with. This bread is currently in the oven and I can't wait! It smells so good!
