Do you love cooking with pumpkin pie spice? You can easily make your own batch of pumpkin pie spice in just a few minutes.
I love baking with pumpkin pie spice and it’s not just for pumpkin pie! Use it to make pumpkin cookies, pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin cheesecake and more! Like most people, I reserve my pumpkin spice eating for the months of October and November. As much as I like it, it just doesn’t make sense for me to buy a large jar of pumpkin pie spice when I already have the individual spices.
Ingredients in Pumpkin Pie Spice Mix
Pumpkin pie spice is a mix of 5 spices that you may already own. You probably already have them. So all you have to do is follow the ratios in the recipe and mix it all together. OK?
To make pumpkin pie spice you will need:
- cinnamon
- ginger
- nutmeg
- clove
- all spice
I use my whisk to blend dry ingredients because it blends faster but you can also just use a spoon. If you find that ingredients are clumping, then use a sieve or a flour sifter. When it’s all nicely blended, just transfer it to an airtight jar. There! You're ready for all your fall baking and pumpkin spiced lattes. Let me help you out by suggesting these irresistible pumpkin chocolate chip cookies or butterscotch pumpkin cake bars.
Oh and don’t forget to add a cute little tag or label to your spice jar. How cute is that? Consider keeping it out on your countertop as part of your fall décor! While you're expertly creating your own pumpkin pie spice blend, why not also make your own homemade chai spice?
